Welcome!  I’m Jill Kirkpatrick, owner of Classic Travels, L.L.C. located in Bettendorf, Iowa.  I have been actively involved with group travel for over 30 years and have escorted tours to all seven continents.  This site will be updated with our current travel plans and late breaking news.  We offer one-day trips to dinner theaters, shopping venues, Broadway shows in Chicago, mystery trips and more, as well as attending some local events.  Also, several multi-day trips and international destinations are offered, and you may download these brochures from this website when available. The Barn in Goodfield, IL is back in business with a brand new facility and we’ve booked the best seats in the house for three shows next year. They will feature the same great cast and good food, of course. Read all about them inside and plan to join us for some great fun.  

The Fireside Dinner Theatre shows for next year are all filling quickly so book early to avoid disappointment.  We have our usual great seats.  Steve Watts will be back for the June Rock & Roll shows and we have two dates with one almost sold out.   

Our Fall Shopping trip, November 16 still has seats.  It will cover over 175 stores at the Aurora Premium Outlets plus 36 rooms of merchandise at the Little Traveler, and 75 stores at the Geneva Commons Outlets.  Get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

It’s not Christmas without Jim McDonough’s show.  This year it is on Saturday, December 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Five Flags Center in Dubuque. See all the details inside.

Two previews are scheduled. Our Queen Mary 2 Crossing Preview is at 3:00 p.m. on October 12 for our trip next May 21-June 3. We spend a couple of days in New York City, cross the Atlantic for 7 days on this grand ship and then enjoy three days in London before flying home. It truly is a trip of a lifetime. Join us at the preview to find out why. Then, on December 14 at 4:00 p.m. come find out about our September 23-October 3 trip to Budapest, Prague & Vienna.

A sneak preview into 2019 trips includes Chicago for two musicals—“Anastasia” in April and the hottest ticket on Broadway, “Come From Away” in August.  “Hamilton” lovers will enjoy a new venue in Chicago in April which will include a 360 immersive exhibition narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda including historical artifacts. Our extended bus tour goes to Nashville in October.  Watch for more details, or let me know if interested and I’ll put your name on the list.

Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic Crossing Trip Preview

Join us as we shop at the Geneva Commons Outlets (75 stores) and the Little Traveler (36 rooms of unique shopping) in an Italianate Victorian residence, both in Geneva, Illinois.  Also included are the 175 stores at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora. We’ll have a “sweet” stop at the DeKalb Oasis en route that morning.  And, of course, there will be a stop at Trader Joe’s in Batavia before heading home. If you would like to make or cancel reservations or to receive a brochure, call us at Classic Travels, at (563) 332-0014.  Our answering machine will take your message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  Remember to speak slowly and clearly and to give your name, telephone number, and message so we can get back to you if necessary. If you don’t receive a call back within 24 hours, we’re probably on a trip, and if outside the United States, will only be able to respond to email messages. You will, however, receive a call back as soon as we return. Check out the newsletter to see if we’re traveling.

Trip Departures:
Bus arrives 30 minutes prior to departure from Northwest Bank & Trust Company, 100 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport, lower parking lot, west side of the building. Tenants and employees park in this lot and the Bank graciously allows us to use it while on trips.  As a result, please park your vehicles west and north of the building. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Trips are payable about 30 days in advance unless stated otherwise.  If you need to cancel, call us as soon as possible as many dates sell out and have a wait list.  For overnight trips, a reservation is confirmed only when a completed reservation form, with your down payment, is received.  Checks should be made payable to Classic Travels and mailed to 3371 Eastridge Drive, Bettendorf, Iowa 52722. Usually final payment dates are listed at the end of trip descriptions.  To be fair, if payment is not received by the final payment date, reservations will automatically be offered to those on the wait list. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

The perfect gift for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, or just “because”, is a Classic Travels gift certificate available in any amount.  Simply give us a couple days’ notice to prepare one for you.
